Warning: Pre-Alpha

This game is currently in pre-alpha, and at this time, I do not recommend running a game in it yet. Every single game mechanic and piece of lore is subject to potentially breaking changes.

Cover

If you make a ranged or thrown attack, but the target is partially behind another creature or object, this creature or object provides cover. Cover has two effects:

  • It acts as extra armor for the target, which takes damage before the target's actual armor.
  • It increases the DC of called shots made against the target

Cover Level. Depending on its size, material, the degree to which it obscures the target, etc... The Plot Twister can decide the target receives light cover (+2 to armor and called shot DCs), or heavy cover (+5 to armor and called shot DCs).

Destructible Cover. At the Plot Twister's discretion, an object used as cover can be destroyed if the extra armor provided to the creature is reduced to 0.

Communicating cover. When a player announces they want to make an attack against a target with cover, the Plot Twister must tell the player the level of the cover and whether or not it is destructible. The player can then decide not to make the attack - they don't spend any AP if they opt out.
